The Three Valleys Community Rail Partnership was created to bring together people, organisations and communities connected by the Merthyr, Aberdare and Treherbert rail lines.

From the outset, the Partnership has been shaped by local voices, ensuring it reflects the needs, priorities and character of the areas it serves.

Our Partnership includes a wide and growing range of stakeholders, from community groups and charities to local authorities, transport partners and individuals with a shared interest in the railway and its role in community life.

We work collaboratively through a steering group, themed sub-groups and open engagement, with opportunities for new partners to get involved as our work develops.

In addition to the Partnership meetings, there are also three subgroups. These meet twice a year and are:

• Active Travel
• Lived Experience
• Events, Communication and Heritage.

By working in partnership, we are able to deliver projects that support community wellbeing, sustainable travel, local identity and economic opportunity. This collaborative approach ensures that our work is inclusive, locally informed and grounded in real community benefit across the Three Valleys.
